At the moment it is unknown who the assailants are and whether the police has any leads so far. A LAPD spokesman declared he had no confirmation of the alleged fight.

During the iTune test the iMac proved to be 22 percent faster the 27-inch 2.8GHz Core i5 iMac. The new iMac was also 18 percent faster in the Handbrake test, 20 percent faster in the Cinebench graphics test, 21 percent faster in the Cinebench CPU test, and 16 percent faster in the MathematicaMark tests.

As with the older iMac version all the new ones support Turbo Boost, which can give more processing power to individual cores when needed. And also like the older 27-inch 2.8GHz Core i5 iMac, all of the new standard-configuration iMacs do not have Hyper Threading, a technology that presents the OS with two virtual cores for each physical core.

Compared to the six-core 3.33GHz Xeon Westmere Mac Pro with 8GB of RAM, the Mac Pro was about 15 percent faster than the new iMac. The iMac was a tad faster in the graphics tests and iTunes encode tests, but considerably slower in most tasks, especially MathematicaMark and Cinebench CPU tests.

The other versions are still being tested, but keep an eye out for the results. Surely they will not disappoint.

AppleInsider also mentions that its sources said the early morning hours of May 3 at Apple Retail stores will be a “visual night,” therefore the new Apple iMac models should be in stores the day they were announced.”Visual night” is the term for when Apple retail employees stay through the night and change merchandising and display planograms in the store in order to prepare a new product for sale. Thus the older iMac models will probably be removed and the new one will take their places.

AppleInsider’s sources seem to agree to earlier reports from CNET that new Apple iMacs will ship in April or May.

The Imac line has not seen any major updates since July 2010, over 9 months ago, therefore the new line comes at the perfect moment. According to AppleInsider Apple’s desktop business has been declining. Mac desktop shipments have gone down from more than 50 percent of the company’s Mac product shipments in the first quarter of 2006 to only 26 percent of the total Mac units shipped during Q2 of 2011.

A Survivor Dinner taking place at 5 and 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Educational Suites at Gaston Memorial Hospital will serve as one of the lead-ins to this year’s walk.

A treat will be provided to cancer survivors by Alfred and Charlie’s BBQ House; cost is $7 per meal for families and friends. The entertainment will be provided by the Cancer Survivors Choir, giving survivors the ability to preregister for this weekend’s Relay event.

John Carter, a news anchor for WBTV Charlotte, is Gastonia’s honorary survivor and will lead the survivors’ lap that kicks off the overnight event Friday night.

There will also be a luminaria ceremony at 9 pm for those in memory of those who passed away because of cancer and for those who are still fighting the disease. Relay participants will be led by a bagpiper while silently moving around the track.

The Relay for Life march was created in order to give people a way to fight the illness together. Since many have been touched by cancer in on way or another, it gives them a sense of power over the disease. It is also the biggest national fundraiser of the year for the American Cancer Society and money raised from relay events support cancer research, education, advocacy and patient service programs.

The brain was preserved and several blood and tissue samples were taken to compile a DNA profile.

These samples were compared with those of the men that was killed by U.S. troops in a raid on Bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan.

Bin Laden was shot in the head and chest by the US Navy seals,in an operation that has been monitored  by the CIA for months.

U.S. officials have confirmed that the body has been identified as that of Bin Laden after doing a DNA test in Pakistan.

Bin Laden is  credited with orchestrating the terrorist attacks that occured on September 11,2001,in which died nearly 3,000 people in New York,Washington D.C.and Shanksville, PA.

“No launch date will be announced today, but Endeavour will not launch sooner than May 8.” Added NASA. “Based on the amount of time needed to do the fix, a new shuttle launch attempt will not happen before the end of the week, at the soonest.”

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords met with President Barack Obama who were in Florida to watch the postponed launch, her spokesman confirmed.

”Congresswoman Giffords is disappointed that Endeavour was unable to launch today, but realizes that mission safety must come first,” said her spokesman C.J. Karamargin. He also added that Giffords and the crew are looking forward to the launch, although ”launch delays are not uncommon with the space shuttle.”

Friday’s launch was called off after the heaters on one of Endeavour’s power units failed about four hours before liftoff.

“There was no point continuing with the countdown,” said launch commentator George Diller. “The external tank has to be drained to be able to do some electrical testing.”

Mike Moses, the launch integration manager for space shuttle program added at a Friday press conference that the heaters failed to come on during testing.

Crew members including Capt. Mark Kelly were on their way to the launch pad when NASA called the operation off.

Endeavour will deliver the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, a device built to search the universe for dark matter and antimatter, to the International Space Station.

The mission is to include the last-ever scheduled spacewalk by a shuttle crew.

Taking this into consideration, the International Skating Union decided to move the Championships to Moscow. Although Russia had a relatively short time to prepare, they put all their forces into motion and hosted a wonderful edition of the Championships.

The end of the Championships has passed and the medals shone brightly in both Asia and America. Bringing some happiness in Japan, Miki Ando won the ladies’ gold medal and Takahiko Kozuka won silver, bested by Canada’s Patrick Chan. Canada also distinguished herself through Tessa Virute and Scott Moir’s silver medal, the Ice Dance vicechampions. The U.S. dominated the Ice Dance with Meryl Davis and Charlie White taking gold and Maia Shibutani with her brother Alex Shibutani winning bronze.

Europe won one gold in the Pairs Competition due to the German couple Aliona Savchenko  and Robin Szolkowy followed by a silver medal in the same competition earned by the Russian couple Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov. China came on third place in the Pair Competition with Qing Pang and Jian Tong.

Russia won a bronze medal as well through the young Artur Gachinski while the Ladies podium was completed by Korean Yuna Kim and Italian Carolina Kostner.

All in all, despite the problems this Championship encountered, it shone with majestical performances and stellar skaters all doing their best to put behind the terrible happenings from March and help organize a wonderful competition.

NATO denied having directed their attacks against Gaddafi and his family,but said it had launched air strikes against military targets in Tripoli where the bombed place visited by journalists is found.

“NATO continued its precision strikes against Gaddafi regime military installations in Tripoli overnight, including striking a known command and control building in the Bab al-Azizya neighborhood shortly after 1800 GMT Saturday evening“the alliance said in a statement.

Ibrahim said that Gaddafi’s youngest son, Saif Al-Arab, was killed in the attack. Saif al-Arab, 29, is one of the less proeminent sons of Gaddafi,with a limited role in the power structure.Ibrahim described it as a student who passed through Germany.

Although the price may prove to be too much for some, $399, considering you can take it anywhere with you and keep it in your pocket or purse it proves to be good quality for money. Also it’s versatile enough for indoors and outdoors shots; it has many amazing features as well – you can adjust the flash, use the ring that surrounds the lens to adjust focus manually and even go to the menu screen to change the white balance, which helps a lot for color. With the Canon Powershot S95′s wide lens, everything stays in focus and it gives amazing, sharp and crisp results every time.

Still it’s far from perfect. It has a small 3.8x zoom—good enough for medium close-up shots, but it cannot get across the room. Also, like most point and shoots, it suffers from shutter lag.

All in all the Canon Powershot S95 is pricey enough, but considering its pros and cons it proves to be a valuable traveling companion.

Amazon offered a 10-day credit to customers whose websites were affected acknowledging that there has been data loss as a result of the technical problems.

The data center outage near Dulles Airport, just outside of Washington, was a major setback for EC2, with Amazon still trying to restore some of the computers that were brought down on April 21.

“As with any complicated operational issue, this one was caused by several root causes interacting with one another,” added Amazon.

Amazon mentioned that it was a human error that caused the outage. An automated error-recovery mechanism got out of control and many computers became “stuck” in recovery mode.

“The traffic shift was executed incorrectly.” Amazon said. „”The trigger for this event was a network configuration change… We will audit our change process and increase the automation to prevent this mistake from happening in the future.”

Also the company promised to be more forthcoming in the future.

“In addition to the technical insights and improvements that will result from this event, we also identified improvements that need to be made in our customer communications,” they concluded.

Ars Technica said around a dozen people have reported fraudulent charges on their cards, which occurred in countries they never visited. One user said his card was charged $8,000 for purchases at a Japanese store.

An important question is whether the hackers were not able to decrypt the credit card details if they had full access to PSN’s software,but there is a chance they used the same mechanism that is usually used to decrypt the card details. Another question is whether the hackers had the CVV code that is needed in order to make Internet transactions.

Unfortunately,it is still unknown how long the hackers had control of the network.
