The body of Osama Bin Laden was identified by U.S.authorities by matching a  DNA sample to one taken from his sister’s brain, reports the online edition of ‘The Telegraph’.The FBI took the body of the sister of the Al Qaeda leader, who has not been named, when she died of brain cancer several years ago in Boston,so that it could later be used to identify the Al-Qaeda leader in case he was caught,

The brain was preserved and several blood and tissue samples were taken to compile a DNA profile.

These samples were compared with those of the men that was killed by U.S. troops in a raid on Bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan.

Bin Laden was shot in the head and chest by the US Navy seals,in an operation that has been monitored  by the CIA for months.

U.S. officials have confirmed that the body has been identified as that of Bin Laden after doing a DNA test in Pakistan.

Bin Laden is  credited with orchestrating the terrorist attacks that occured on September 11,2001,in which died nearly 3,000 people in New York,Washington D.C.and Shanksville, PA.
