Osama Bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri are living close to other homes that are located in the northwest of Pakistan. He said an unnamed senior NATO official, quoted by CNN. “None of the men of Al Qaeda living in a cave,” the source said, explaining that Bin Laden lives in a situation of relative comfort, protected by local and by some members of the Pakistani intelligence services. Pakistan has repeatedly denied any protection at the top of his terrorist network. According to NATO officials, the region where Bin Laden is believed to be living changed in recent years from the mountainous area of Chitral (NW, near the border with China), in the Kurram valley, near the Afghan region of Tora Bora, a Taliban stronghold at the time of the U.S. invasion of 2001. The official also confirmed the belief that the U.S. Mullah Omar, Taliban leader, has moved across the Pakistani city of Karachi and Quetta in recent months. He did not specify how the coalition has obtained this information. Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said, saying that such information was false in the past, and denied that Bin Laden and Mullah Omar are in Pakistani territory.
